Mystery 207

In the middle of a huge snowstorm last Saturday my friend & I braved the weather to find ourselves traveling back in time. We went to a 1920s Chicago Speakeasy. We attended was a Murder Mystery Improve Dinner Theater event. Hosted by Mystery 207 in Searsport at the Homeport Inn & Tavern.

Upon entering patrons are transported back in time to a 1920’s era flapper style speakeasy. Hidden in the basement, the speakeasy is full of flappers trying to solve the murder of a mafia king full of gangster suspects.  Patrons participate in the investigation, take their own notes, interact with all the suspects.

The acting was amazing, especially the female casts had some serious acting chops. The Characters had punny names that made you giggle.

Most patrons in the Main Dining Room were fully decked out in their best flapper attire. My BFF and I sat in the bar with exposed brick dressed in our flapper best.

Lunch was 3 Courses. The Caesar Salad which had lovely homemade croutons. We opted for the Chicken Sandwich and Hamburger for the Main Course. The sandwich was delicious, just like the fried, which was so big! I tried the flourless chocolate torte and the Lemon Crème Brulé. Our neighbors in the Bar tried the Bread pudding which also looked amazing. I found it impossible to pick a favorite dessert.

All in All, Mystery 207 provided a wonderful experience. I truly think you’ll enjoy attending. I solved the murder, but I won’t spoil the surprise.
