Facts & Questions About Wedding Flower Preservation:

How far in Advanced must I book my Bridal Bouquet Resin Preservation?

I suggest booking as soon as possible. A $150 non-refundable retainer fee is required to secure your wedding date, and resin bookings can be made up to a year in advance. Scheduling is essential, just like for any other wedding vendor. As of 2024, Vixen Hollow Arts DOES NOT accept wedding flower preservation inquiries with less than 30 days’ notice before the wedding or inquiries made immediately afterward. Advanced scheduling is a must for wedding flower preservation. Reach out now to start the booking process.  CONTACT – Vixen Hollow Arts

Is there a minimum spend requirement for Wedding Flower Preservation?

Yes! Vixen Hollow Arts had a $450 Minimum Order for Wedding Flower Preservation in Resin. See below about payment details.

How does Payment work when Scheduling my Resin Floral Piece?

When you book with Vixen Hollow Arts, a $150 nonrefundable retainer fee secures your spot in the commission line for your Wedding Weekend to drop off your Bouquet to be dried and preservation.

The balance of your order will be billed at 60 days before the wedding. You’ll have 30 days to pay the remaining balance, excluding the retainer fee. Full payment is required 30 days before the wedding. Arrangements can be made to use Afterpay via Square invoices for the Balance, but not the retainer fee. If using Afterpay, arrangements must be with Vixen Hollow Arts made prior to 60-day billing of the balance. Once you contact me via CONTACT – Vixen Hollow Arts I’ll email you a Google Form to collect details on your Bridal Bouquet Preservation.

How soon after the Wedding does the Bouquet need to arrive in Ellsworth?

The sooner, the better! The quicker I receive the flowers, the sooner I can begin the drying process using silica sand. Brides are given a 24–72-hour window for drop-off. If your wedding is on a Saturday, the ideal drop-off is 24 hours later, on Sunday. The fresher the flowers, the better they will look in the final preservation piece. The latest you can drop them off is Tuesday morning, 72 hours after the wedding.

I’m located near Acadia National Park in Bar Harbor, Maine, on Mount Desert Island, not far from Bangor. Ellsworth, Maine, is between Bar Harbor and Bangor, and I am the only preservation artist working with resin within two hours of Acadia National Park—perfect for local drop-offs for destination brides in Maine.

Can I mail my Bouquet after the Wedding? If so, how soon does it need to arrive in Ellsworth?

Yes! Starting in 2025, I will accept shipped bouquets from brides outside of Maine. Bouquets must be shipped ASAP and overnighted. I will send a picture or video to document the condition of the bouquet upon arrival. Please note that damage can occur during shipping, even with careful packing. I recommend using UPS for shipping. I cannot guarantee the condition of any shipped bouquet upon arrival, as shipping may bruise or damage the flowers. I will not accept bouquets shipped via USPS. For brides within the state of Maine, I still highly recommend in-person drop-off.

How long does it take to preserve my Wedding Bouquet in Resin?

It’s not a quick process! Expect a 5–7-month turnaround time from drop-off to pick-up. There are many steps involved, from drying and layout to blocking, sanding, top-coating, and polishing. If you’d like to learn more, see the blog post below.

How long before I get to approve my layout design?

Around 45-60 days after the wedding, give or take a few weeks, I will reach out to you with layout designs. Once the bride provides input on the style, I will send multiple layout options via text as I work with the dried flowers. You can also opt for a 15-minute video call to collaborate live on the layout. I highly recommend scheduling the video chat! Artist’s Choice is also an option once you chose layout design. No texting or video calls will occur with Artists Choice after selection of layout option.

For more information. see the blog post: What are my Layout Options? – Vixen Hollow Arts

Can I change the size/shape of my resin block after booking?

Yes! You can upgrade your floral preservation piece after booking and drop-off. During the layout design phase, if you decide to upgrade from a 6″ square to an 8″ square or hexagon, I will invoice you for the difference in price. You can also add a colored backdrop at this time. Once payment for the upgrade is made, I will proceed with preserving the approved size and design layout. The layout design phase is the last chance to upgrade to a larger size or add-ons like floral ring holders or floral votive holders

Do I have to pick up my resin bouquet preservation piece in person?

I highly recommend that local brides with larger pieces, like 8″ hexagons, pick them up in person. Shipping costs can often be more expensive than gas when you’re local. However, shipping is possible, and the client is responsible for all shipping fees. Please note that shipping fees are not included in the price of your floral preservation piece.

Can you preserve flowers that I dried from an event years ago?

Yes, I can preserve air-dried flowers! However, there is a higher chance of micro air bubbles, and the flowers will have a more vintage look in the preservation piece, compared to freshly dried flowers. I use a different method to dry flowers, and there is no discount for using previously dried flowers. The $4 50minimum order still applies.

Did I see you on the local news?

Yes! I was fortunate enough to be featured on WABI TV5 Studios in Bangor, Maine, where I showcased wedding flower preservation in resin. Logan Hoffman interviewed me. You can watch the segment on WABI Craft Corner: Vixen Hollow Arts and on MSN. See the Tape here on WABI’s Website: Wabi Craft Corner: Vixen Hollow Arts and on MSN WABI Craft Corner: Vixen Hollow Arts (msn.com)

Do you offer color correction of flowers?

At this time, Vixen Hollow Arts does not offer color correction for wedding bouquet preservation. Stay tuned as this may change in the future, as we are always refining our skills!

Do you use top quality resin for the Wedding Bouquet Preservation?

Yes! Vixen Hollow Arts uses top-quality casting resin for the floral blocking process and a UV-protectant tabletop resin for the final top-coating, ensuring your preservation piece is protected during the finishing process.
